ECHIDNA COUNSELLING
SUPERVISION
Supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists
Good supervision offers space to think about your work with clients, to explore what might be happening beneath the surface, and to consider how your own responses, experiences and working context shape the work.
I offer individual supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists, online and face to face in Chelmsford. My approach is informed by psychodynamic and group analytic perspectives, alongside experience of working across individual, couples and group settings.
I am currently completing a Diploma in Supervision with The Grove Practice. While I complete my training, I offer supervision at a reduced fee.
How I work as a supervisor
My approach is grounded in psychodynamic thinking and group analytic principles. I am interested in what happens within the therapeutic relationship, the patterns that emerge in the work, and how our own responses as therapists can help us understand something about the client and the therapeutic process.
I offer a space to think openly about your work, including uncertainty, difficulties and moments when you feel stuck. We can explore the relational and unconscious processes at play, while also considering the practical, ethical and organisational contexts in which you work.
My approach is informed by other modalities, and I welcome different perspectives and ways of understanding and working with clients. I see supervision as an opportunity to reflect, question our assumptions and develop a deeper understanding of the work, in a way that supports your ongoing learning and practice.

Who I work with
I welcome enquiries from counsellors and psychotherapists at different stages of their professional development, including those who are newly qualified or developing a private practice.
My clinical experience spans NHS and private practice, EAP work, acute hospital and palliative care settings, and specialist bereavement services. This informs my supervision work.
I also have experience of individual, couples and group work, and welcome opportunities to think with practitioners about the particular challenges and dynamics these different settings can bring.
Practicalities and fees
Individual supervision is available online or face to face in Chelmsford. I am offering supervision at a reduced fee while I complete my specialist training in clinical supervision with The Grove Practice. The reduced rate will apply during this period of training.
We begin with an introductory conversation to discuss your work, what you are looking for from supervision and whether we feel the arrangement would be a good fit.
My approach balances support with thoughtful challenge, encouraging curiosity, reflection and professional accountability while keeping client wellbeing at the centre of our work. Supervision is tailored to your developmental stage, professional context and individual learning needs.
At the outset, we will agree a supervision contract setting out the practical arrangements and our respective responsibilities, including confidentiality, record keeping, cancellations and regular review.
I do not offer supervision to people I teach or assess.
About my training
I am currently undertaking specialist training in clinical supervision with The Grove Practice. Suitability for supervision, including whether sessions can count towards professional or training requirements, will be discussed before we begin.
